Great Exuma

Great Exuma is the jewel among all the islands of The Bahamas. The Exuma’s as they are known are an archipelago of 365 cays  (pronounced keys) and islands, beginning just 35 miles southeast of Nassau the country’s capital city and running over 100 miles to the southeast.

These islands appear  from the air to be an exotic collection of tiny jewels set in the most beautiful aquamarine and emerald waters  imaginable.

Located  on The Tropic of Cancer, similar to Maui , Hawaii,  Georgetown the capital city is a favorite spot for yachters and tourists alike. Here is an island where nature prevails with pristine waters, elevated iron shore bluffs, quiet back-water bays and mile upon mile of white sandy beaches.

Hidden coves and harbors located  throughout the island are magnets for mega yachts , tourists and sport fishermen alike. Many of the Exuma Cays are private, some operating as luxuriously exclusive private-island resorts and others catering to ultra-exclusive  estate homes of such stars as Johnny Depp, David Copperfield, Nicholas Cage and country singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
